About Our Site

LawnExperts was formed to offer a unique reference point on keeping a healthy lawn.

A well-manicured lawn has been the firmly established centre-piece of the garden for generations but as every gardener knows, keeping a lawn healthy and looking good involves a lot of effort at the best of times - and there are plenty of things that can go wrong!

Getting the great-looking lawn of your dreams and, most importantly, keeping it that way calls for a good deal of know-how and often a fair bit of "inside" knowledge too - which is exactly where this website comes in. There's never really been a one-stop resource to provide UK gardeners with this kind of essential information and practical advice - at least, not until now!

Filled with useful tips and a range of interesting articles specially written for this site, LawnExperts tells you everything you're ever likely to need to know to let you establish and grow a healthy lawn and then ensure that it stays at its best. From creating a new lawn from turf or seed and learning how to water, feed and cut it, to understanding the importance of lawn care, the influence of soil and how to go about renovating or repairing a damaged lawn, this site really does have something for everyone.

However you use your own patch of grass, LawnExperts will help you make sure your lawn is everything you want it to be - and more!

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

Our Background

Dr Gareth Evans is the primary writer of this site. He is a freelance writer and environmental consultant and has authored books on bio waste and environmental biotechnology.

Gareth has a practical background in this subject area, having started his working life with the Agricultural Development Advisory Service. Since then he has worked extensively on land management and reclamation projects in the UK and abroad, creating award-winning wetland and woodland habitats and he gardens for pleasure in his free-time.

LawnExperts was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding LawnExperts and a number of similar sites.

Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read.
